Dr. Elizabeth Lapidow

Liz Lapidow is a postdoctoral research fellow with Dr. Stephanie Denison at the University of Waterloo, and a visiting research scholar at the CoCoDev Lab. She completed her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of California, San Diego in 2023, where she worked with Dr. Caren Walker. Prior to graduate school, she earned her BA at Sarah Lawrence College in 2014, and was a lab manager and researcher scientist for Dr. Elizabeth Bonawitz at Rutgers University. Broadly, her research investigates in how learners seek to ‘figure out’ the world around them by taking actions and considering possibilities. She is particularly interested in how agents learn and reason about uncertainty in causal systems and make decisions during exploration.
