Jiayi was the lab manager of Bonawitz CoCoDev Lab (HGSE) and Ullman CoCoDev Lab (FAS Psychology). She received her B.A. in Psychology and Japanese from Boston University in 2022. Jiayi's ongoing project investigates how children generate explanations for physical events that violate physical laws of the world. More broadly, Jiayi is interested in the development of social and self-reflective cognition, with a special interest in the interplay between how the understanding of cultural norms &amp; moral values and the understanding of relationship structures aid children’s conceptualization of the social world. In the future, Jiayi hopes to continue pursuing cognitive science research in graduate school.
